Members shared diverse medication strategies for managing fibromyalgia pain beyond anti-seizure medications, with many describing combinations of over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen and paracetamol, muscle relaxers, anti-anxiety medications, and sleep aids to manage daily discomfort. Several members highlighted CBD oil as a promising alternative that helps with pain, relaxation, and anxiety without the side effects of prescription medications, though experiences varied and some found it didn't work for them. A recurring theme was frustration with weight gain from medications like Lyrica and antidepressants, the difficulty of accessing opioid pain relief, and the challenging process of weaning off medications, with members emphasizing the importance of self-advocacy and finding what works for your individual body.

Thanks so much for the support! The worst thing of this "newly discovered sickness" - is that we as the patients, we have to do the discovering ourselves. We are the proof animals they have to test on until they find something that works. Oh well... Its like you say we each know our bodies.

And hey, it doesn't feel that way but each of us are helping the medical history discover a cure šŸ¤—

You could try CBD oil there’s slot of people who say it completely relaxes them and there’s no I’ll effect from it or high it’s apparently just relaxing . I have tried it but unfortunately it didn’t work . It is expensive but if it works it’s eirth it . My brain unfortunately is not tuned in with anything :/
My friend was born with arthritis and she’s normally on morphine tablets but CBD oil has helped relax her .šŸ™‚

I take cbd oil.
Much better than the meds I was on.
I just put some drops under my tongue.
No stone or adverse effects
such as slurred speech or feeling disoriented.xx
It does work the best part is you don’t realise it has until you go to do something that you would normally do like bending lifting or even driving.
My hands get really painful when I’m driving.

Lyrica was horrible for me. I take gabipentin a muscle relaxer an anxiety pill and a sleeping pill. The gabipentin helps my pain it doesn't take it away but it dulls the sharp pains

Yes most defiantly I’m on I think it’s called citraplan ? Something like that and that’s been ok for me . I took myself of mine as I read a lot of what people were saying plus I didn’t feel they weee doing anything I was on a high dose it was a horrible experience weaning myself of them , this is one reason my dr didn’t want me off them because she thought it would be to much for me coming off them . It was 3 weeks off not good at all but you get through it you just got to keep thinking the next day will be better , until it is eventually . I hope you manage to get what you need you know your body šŸ’œ
