Facial Numbness
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

After a really stressful event 2 weeks ago, that led to a panic Attack, I’m having some neurological issues. I’ve been told in the past that I had fibromyalgia but I honestly feel like I’ve been to so many doctors and don’t have clear answers. Anyway, since this panic attack, I first had shoulder and neck pain. That went away, and then I got numbness in hands and feet that comes and goes, worse at night. Now I have numbness in my face and nose and slightly burning skin. Anyone else? I was hoping… read more

I had it for two and a half weeks! Mostly in my lower face but at times it went all the way up to my cheekbone. I went to the ER thinking maybe a stroke but all came back normal. My family doctor wants me to be checked for MS but I’m thinking it’s just Fibro related.

It’s mostly on one side of my face, which is freaking me out a little. How long do these symptoms/flares last? Weeks? It’s not always there but I would say it is there more than it’s not. And when it is there i think about it more and gets me all anxious...ugh

Yes to numbness and I’ll do you one better! I had a burning mouth for a month! Felt like a hot pepper was in my mouth. I also get weird sensations all over my body that feels like a humming on my bones or like I just want to crawl right out of my skin.

My skin feels like I have a sunburn on it a lot of the time. Sometimes more and sometimes not at all. I get numbness and tingling hands and feet often.
I don’t talk about my Fibro much to friends or family anymore I go onto this site to see / relate to what others experience. Others can’t relate to much of what we experience, and they have their own problems too. I also find it doesn’t help to make me feel much better and thinking about other things keeps me more optimistic and involved in life.
