Members shared their experiences with sudden disorientation, confusion, and heart palpitations, reassuring someone who felt frightened after experiencing these episodes on familiar routes and in public spaces. Several members described similar scary moments including severe anxiety attacks that sent them to the ER, passing out on buses, vision problems, feeling frozen in supermarkets, and even seizures, with many attributing these episodes to fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. A recurring theme was the importance of getting symptoms checked by a doctor to rule out serious causes while also validating that these frightening experiences can be part of living with chronic conditions like fibro.

Yes!! Since I've had CFS/Fibro (''99) I have experienced so many scary, weird, life altering symptoms... My heart rate is always borderline high now. EKG's, ECHO's, etc always normal.

I have had anxiety attacks so severe that I ended up in the ER 3 or 4x throughout the years. They would come out of nowhere, in situations where I was totally comfortable, relaxed, etc. I would just suddenly become dizzy, heart racing, short of breath, shaky legs that were too weak to even get me out of my chair, etc, etc. Even felt like the room would seem like it was getting dark and sounds/voices would be muffled. Extremely scary until you know what they are but still not fun when you do know "it's just an anxiety attack!" Yeah...

Yep. In the early days of Fibro I passed out on the bus, had vision problems, bad head and face pains and would stand in the middle of supermarkets feeling as though someone had lobotomised me!! Also had occasional seizures. Still get these symptoms during a full grand mal flare up.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I often get that driving to work in the mornings because I’m so tired. And I get full on chest pains too. So I think it is normal.
