Are Scalp Itchiness And Pain Symptoms?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I'm fairly newly diagnosed with both fibro and RA. The past two years I have experienced awful scalp itch, dandruff and scalp pain and sensitivity (like, I can't lay on pillows made of certain fabrics or my scalp itches and goes crazy with pain). I recently saw a dermatologist who diagnosed me with sebboric dermatitis and has put me on ketoconazole shampoo a couple weeks ago but it's not working. My scalp itches and hurts so bad I want to claw at it day and night! I've tried everything on… read more

I get itchy rash symptoms and I was prescribed clobetasol propionate topical solution and within days, it cleared up.

I have the scalp itching and it gets sore if I scratch too much. I have had this for some time but had not associated it with the fibro. I also have very dry itchy skin. Some is from the diabetes and some could be from the fibro, it nearly drives me wild. I have tried creams and lotions for pain and itching which either makes it worse or I have developed an allergy to them. I take benedryl for the itching and it doesn't make me too sleepy. Baths with soap that has oils in it seems to help with the slouffing of dead skin cells but it is a daily battle. Hope all are doing well and we have another symptom in common it seems.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Yes, Bendryl takes the edge off for me. Unfortunately, even the non-drowsy kind makes me sleepy, but I'll take being sleepy over itching any day. Heck, most days I'm tired anyway so it's not a big change. Ha ha!

Benedryl is a life saver for itching. There is not drowsy stuff too for day time. Very easy to come by both in a pharmacy. Hope it helps. Xxx
