I have numerous bumps all over my back a couple on my arm. My doctor diagnosed them as lipomas. Are they related to fibromyalgia? I have one right next to my spine and whenever my back hurts, it seems to be from that point down my back. I asked my doctor about it and she didn't seem to think that it would affect my nerves or spine. I'm needing some advice on this please. Thanks!
So yes it must be another Symptom of Fibromyalgia that is rarely talked about. Hopefully this information helps You.
I also have these lumps as well mostly on my back and shoulders.

Lipomas in People With Fibromyalgia
Lipomas are not inherently related to fibromyalgia. They are more frequently associated with family genetics or certain diseases like Adiposis dolorosa (also called Decrumβs disease).
With that being said, lipomas are quite common in people with fibromyalgia, and when they do appear, the pain is almost invariably worse than what other people experience. This is largely related to the parts of the body where people with fibromyalgia are susceptible to excessive pain.
i have a bump on my shin area- my doc said she thought it was a lipoma... it isn't... its just a random bump; ive had a ton of imaging done on it.. it does hurt though when touched and sometimes itll be randomly painful.
i have them all up the inside of my arms along the nerves. i keep showing people but they take no notice. I dont like them ! Having them on your spine sounds a tad scarier.
Thank you
There is an article on this site about these bumps. They are common with fibro. Check the resources section. There is a photo and more information, and more on the wide web too.
