Anyone Ever Try Low Dose Naltrexone?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

After failing with almost all meds out there for us fiber folks, my rheumatologist told me to follow up with a pain management group. The doctor there has me starting on .5mg of Naltrexone. I've only started it a few days ago and so far I see no changes, but I was told I would start on a low dose and build up. I was advised it could take 3 to 4 months before noticing any relief.

I was wondering if anyone else has tried this yet and what their success was, if any.

Thanks!
Dorothy

Naltrexone was my savior! I started with 4.5 mg and I am now on 10 mg which is the highest you can go to keep it low dose. I became more energetic, my migraines went away. My pain subsided for a while. I was like a whole new person. I literally was no longer living in my bed. No side effects at all. I have been on it a little over a year. It started working about 2 weeks after taking it. I am just now starting to feel some Pain again, fibro fog, and a little fatigue.

I am a physician who specializes in treating Fibromyalgia. I start LDN a little higher and increase the dose every few weeks with 4-8mg usually working. I get very good results but I also take a number of other factors in to account when treating Fibromyalgia.

Hello @A MyFibroTeam Member. My doctor told me the insomnia is only temporarily which for me was true. I had a hard time sleeping the first week but I didn't care. I didn't need it as my energy was through the roof. I got back down to my normal sleep schedule about a week later. Hope this helps. Hugs Amzel
