Members connected over the distressing experience of skull pain and scalp tenderness, sharing symptoms that ranged from sharp pain when touching certain spots to constant pressure, pain that prevents hair brushing or wearing hats, and migraines that start at the base of the skull and radiate upward. Several members offered insights beyond fibromyalgia, including occipital neuralgia and trigeminal neuralgia, with practical suggestions to seek specialists in nerve-related conditions, explore nerve block diagnostics, and join dedicated support forums for occipital neuralgia. A recurring theme was the frustration of finding answers from general specialists and the emotional toll of unrelenting pain, with members offering solidarity, gentle hugs, and hope that proper diagnosis and treatment can eventually bring relief.

Hi people . The symptoms u have described sounds very like occipital neuralgia or cervicogenic migraine . Either way, it starts in the cervical spine & nerves. Can I suggest u ask to join the occipital neuralgia forums . Also see Dr Peled in San Fransisco's website and view his posts . You will gain a lot of knuwkedge .The only diagnostic tool for ON is nerve blocks in the occipital nerves. MRI isn't detailed enough for nerve compression . You need a specialist in ON , not just any neurologist . If I lived in the US I'd see him or other ON specialists in a heartbeat . Australia is way behind the US for this condition, unfortunately .
