I have tried the water arobics too, I also find them the most tolerable form of exercise, especially Iae chi. Pardon the spelling, it is the water form of tae chi.

Hi Everyone. Obviously I Am A Newly Joined Member! I Would Like To Ask; Does Anyone Has Acquired Keratoderma?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

It is known as thickening of the skin. It affects the hands or feet or both. Basically, the palms of my hands are calloused. My fingers are swollen. When I get a bad flare up (which is where this all began) it is extremely painful. My fingers don't resemble mine at all. The tips hurt a lot, and hot water is unbearable. When in a bad flare my feet suffer from the pain, but not the extreme skin condition. The condition doesn't have one specific cause, though some A. I. conditions are included in… read more

I really like the 10 minute solution workout videos, the kettle bell one is my favourite. I really like it cause I can do 10 minutes up to 40 depending on how my body is acting up that day.

Exercise
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

My question is about @exercise. I know with fibro it's hard but you need to do it. My issue is I also have a very bad neck and back. It's bad enough that the Dr is looking into operating. I also have arthritis throughout my body and with the fibro it's hard to know what kind of @exercise to do
I was thinking Tai Chi or lite yoga or both. I don't believe in doing so much that I have to pay for it later. I don't want to pay for it at all, lol

Walking in a pool is best. Buoyancy takes weight off joints, but gives you more resistance.

Does Anyone Else Have A Flair Up Without Warning
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Today we were on the way to a family function, and it started raining, and within seconds I was throbbing from head to toe and my neck and shoulders were so tight and on fire I couldn't move ... I've never had a flair up come on so strong and so fast

Ankles Hurting, Slightly Discolored, Bruised
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am so baffled by this. Both ankles hurt on the inside of the leg, extending into the arch and sometimes up the calf.

There's also very faint discoloring like bruises. Neither has been injured recently (though both ankles have been broken in the past).

Those aren't shadows. And there's been no impact, so I am a little spooked by those.

What Form Of Exercise Do You Find Beneficial Or At Least Manageable?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

As usual, research is often conflicting on this so I wondered what people's experiences are.

NHS recommends aerobic especially swimming. My gps have always encouraged aerobic exercise too. Now personally, before I even knew what I had I felt like dying after any aerobic exercise for days and weeks after.

I've read books by sufferers who say this is due to our lack of growth hormone production so muscles stuggle to repair.

I imagine therefore weights would be the same?

Ive found gentle… read more
