Mouth Issues
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Anyone have pain in their mouth/tongue? For the last two months on and off, I have had what feels like a slight burning mouth. I don't know if I could say it was a complete case of BMS but it certainly has a peppery feel to my mouth at times....mainly my tongue. When it gets this way, I don't even want to talk. I feel like Fibromyalgia is a chameleon...constantly changing/morphing into new things. For months it has been hand pain, weird weakness issues and this sense of losing dexterity… read more

I am more vocal about my pain with this team than my family and friends. No one really knows what it feels like to be in our world of pain and and all the symptoms associated with Fibro.😔

I completley empathise. Theres not a day that I have no pain and it shifts just like you describe it. Im now even afraid to tell my family about it lest I sound like a hyprocondiac. I dont think anyone who doesnt have this debilitating disease understands what we go through 24/7/ 365.

@A MyFibroTeam Member i wish I had a good answer. Normally I try to take alpha lipoic acid and then I avoid alcohol and take a supplement called candicid forte for yeast overgrowth. I find the best thing has been a low dose of clonazepam (klonipin). A famous oral surgeon in canada has dedicated her life to BMS. Google BMS doctor Canada. She recommended a lose dose of clonazepam. It is depressing. How long have you had yours? Mine comes and goes

Mouth pain, burning tongue, canker sores can be linked to Candida overgrowth from diet or Antibiotics. especially if it taste like metal in your mouth. Candida mimics a lot of Fibro symptoms these too conditions can be very similar.

This was actually my first symptom! I had a terrible pain in my jaw. Thought I needed a root canal. Then ear pain. Then suddenly I felt like I had a lisp! I thought everyone could tell because it felt so obvious. I couldn't find words or say them clearly. I also had times I thought my throat was closing in or I was going to choke on my tongue. Like it swelled up deep in my throat Then my neurological pain showed up so I thought for sure it was MS. I have had the metallic taste in my mouth but only when pregnant so not sure if that's related since I didn't have symptoms wen pregnant - unless that was one!
