Hello. I have a reumatologist. But between the two of them i would take the one that understands fibro better listens to you and supports you. Actually, i dont rely on neither but on my sychiatrist. He had a neurological problem and he takes the same thing i take for the pain. He feels very similar pain . He is the one that decided what meds and dosage i should take. Find someone that understands it and you the best. Blessed be.
They both are good & you need both. A rheumatologist is the one who gives you the diagnosis & prescribes your medication for fibromyalgia.
Since Fibromyalgia concerns our nerves, a neurologist can find out if there's nerve damage or not. Also he might prescribe you muscle relaxant to help you.
😊😊😊
Both are very important...Rheumatologist can help you receive disability for Fibro in the future,,, and so can the Neurologist, Rheumatologist can eliminate many other conditions that can mimic Fibro,,which is helpful for receiving Disability in the future..
My GP has been more helpful. I found rheumatologist wasn’t willing to listen when they found I couldn’t take their antifllamitaries.
A neurologist is best. I saw one who actually diagnosed me with fibromyalgia finally after see numerous other doctors. He then sent me to a pain specialist at the hospital. He prescribed me gabbapentin which helped me so much and I see him every 6 months now
