Tingling All Over Back, Legs, Buttocks, Etc.
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

For the past week and a half, I’ve had constant tingling in my back and skin mainly. Thankfully Gabapentin has been really helpful at controlling this - does anyone else have tingling that stays in one area constantly? Does it ever seem to go away?

Joshua, have your doctor check on your Vitamin B12, Vitamin D & magnesium levels . You could be low in them & need to upp them.
They should help with the tingling also. 🙂🙂🙂

Hello Joshua

Tingling sensations is a very common symptom with fibromyalgia. If you want to put a name to it, it's often known as Paresthesia. Patients commonly experience tingling, crawling (the feeling of insects crawling on the skin) small electric shock type sensations, numbness etc

However, as you are experiencing this in one place consistently, I would mention it to your doctor, it's important to remember that it may actually be something else in this case. It's always best to be safe. I can only share my lived experience of the condition with you.

There are other conditions like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, something patients with fibromyalgia also get diagnosed with at times (but this tingling is usually in the hands) and things like Neuritis that can also have similar symptoms.

I hope you feel a bit better soon and things get a little better.

Hugs

Rose

I've had it in my feet. Feels like neuropathy. Gabapentin definitely helps. But doesn't make it go away completely.
