Crutch Or Walking Stick
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

For those that use a arm crutch or a walking stick, was this recommended by a physiotherapist or did you decide yourself to get one?
I see an Occupational therapist through a pain clinic, their physiotherapist (who has never actually met me) is saying she doesn't recommend i get one. Not sure whether to just go buy one myself.

Hi BethanySmith, I have a walking stick, I had a knee replacement many years ago.....and I used one then.....I have osteoarthritis in my joints and spine, buldging discs, in my lower back and degenerative disease, I’m needing more joint replacements way down the track, and so it goes on....oh my it looks terrible when you stat writing it down.....anyway I keep a collapsible walking stick in my hand bag, I don’t need to use it all the time.....but by golly when I’m really hurting I’m ever so pleased it’s there.....so long story short....if you feel you need a stick, and it helps you feel more confident, then go for it I say.....nobody but you can feel your pain and stability levels.....so follow your own instinct and you won’t go wrong ...... gentle hugs 🤗 lol and hear ends the sermon sorry I did go on a bit 😅😃💕🙏💞🇦🇺🇦🇺

''arm crutch'' I tried attaching a walking stick to my leg with some 2'' wide knicker elastic, so it would hit the floor in the right place and support my hip and leg. After walking into the hospital they gave me arm crutches due to the dangers of what i had attached. They gave me Arm crutches straight away but sometimes I use one and a cane if only moving a few yards.
