Members connected over the difficult balance of needing fresh air to breathe comfortably at night while waking up with painful headaches and stiffness from cold drafts. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped them, including wearing lightweight knit hats or covering the neck and ears to protect sensitive areas, using a fan positioned several feet away instead of an open window, avoiding tucked-in sheets or heavy blankets, and layering clothing like longjohns to stay warm without feeling trapped. A recurring theme was the frustrating no-win feeling of getting too hot under covers but too stiff and achy when exposed to cold air, with many expressing empathy for this shared nightly struggle.

My very elderly mother who has a hard time breathing has a fan going on her from about 7 feet away. This way, if it gets too cold, she closes the window but still has air. It works like a charm for her.

I am the same way, I have to have a cool bedroom in order to sleep, but I wake with aches and a headache everyday, sometimes mild, sometimes pounding. I never thought about it being from the cold as I have always had a window open even in the mid of winter -40, just a crack but still open for over 20 years. I can't sleep in a stuffy room. Don't know of its related.
