My doctor just prescribed Cymbalta for my pain. Has anyone else had good results with this!

Members shared mixed experiences with Cymbalta for fibromyalgia pain, with some finding it helpful initially but reporting diminished effectiveness over time, difficult withdrawal symptoms, and weight gain as common concerns. Several members described combining Cymbalta with Lyrica, magnesium, muscle relaxants, or lidocaine patches, though many felt the pain relief was minimal and comparable to ibuprofen, while one member successfully managed both depression and fibromyalgia pain on a higher dose for years. A recurring theme was the need to experiment with dosages and complementary approaches like CBD oil and Epsom salt baths, with members acknowledging that breakthrough pain still occurs and some days require simply riding out the discomfort.

Worked in the beginning now it does nothing to help. However its extremely hard to get off of. Basically I have to take it just to prevent withdrawal now.

I have been weening myself off Cymbalta. I used it successfully for about 5 years and I gained about 10 lbs that I can't lose. Trying CBD oil under tongue 3 times a day, just started 10 days ago. It helps take edge off pain initially. I am trying higher dose, yet it is expensive and confusing to compare brands and concentrations. Thankfully, my husband has helped.

I've been on Cymbalta. It's approved for fibromyalgia. Welcome to the site.
It helps with the pain specially nerve pain. I stayed on 60 mg since 2009. Don't like to up my dosage. I take it at night with my muscle relaxant, vitamin D & magnesium. Magnesium is a sleep booster aside from helping lessen muscle spasms.

Neither the Cymbalta nor the Lyrica helped me. I agree with Ratmom it worked like an ibuprofin which means not much pain relief. I do take Lidocaine patches which does not take the pain away but does take the edge off. I also take an epsom salts bath as much as I can. There are times when nothing works and I have to ride it out.
