Tingly Tongue ? Metal Mouth? ☹️

Welp! This is a new one. Anyone on here ever had a slightly tingling tongue? It’s only on the sides of my tongue and when I chew gum, I can’t feel it so it’s basically when my tongue is just resting. If I hold it in any other position, it goes away. It almost feels cold on the sides...but then it sorta feels like I have a mouth full of pennies bc there’s a metallic taste to it. No, I’m not on meds, no, nothing weird in my diet. It just started about 3 days ago. I don’t feel it in my sleep. But… read more

Members rallied around someone experiencing a new and distressing symptom of tingling tongue and metallic taste, with many confirming they've dealt with similar sensations that their doctors attributed to fibromyalgia's effects on the nervous system. Several members shared relatable descriptions of the metallic taste, compared it to pennies or car keys, and mentioned that chewing gum provided temporary relief but often triggered jaw pain. A recurring theme was the emotional exhaustion of managing unpredictable symptoms, the longing for answers or relief, and finding comfort in sleep as the only respite from constant discomfort.

No, it started before the gum chewing. And before we go any further, I’ve had every test known to man done to me. Went to Mayo. Al the came up with was centralized sensitivity syndrome and fibromyalgia . 😕

Yep. My doc says that all the weird sensations are Fibro related-since it’s remated to nerves.

Yup i get the tingly tongue and metalic taste as well as jaw/teeth/face pain. Havent find anything that helps. Chewing gum stops the tingling tongue but can agrivate the jaw pain. I hate it so much!
