Do not apply on line at SS office. Find yourself Disablity specialist, this person is one that the only thing he does all day everyday is file disablity requests for perople. He will get a percentage of your 1st check, but you will get a first check way faster. I don't know where you live, but is you are in or arround San Angelo, Texas I have a guy that got my Disability in about 5 months, no denial , no appeal. If you apply at SS office or on line, they will automatically deny the 1st application, that is their protocol. My guy has an in at the SS office and that 1st denial did not happen. He comes to your house, takes all your information, puts it in his computer, you sign some forms, and it i started. you keep him notified every time you are contacted by SS for anything. I filed in like June and got approved starting in January, but they didnt make the decision until March.

Change your doctor to someone who does give a damn, being pro-active is the only thing to do and good luck and hugs

First, get a different doctor. If yours doesn't care, what good is he to you? Fire him and find a doctor who cares. That you may be able to do online.

The disability seems to differ by state. I don't know why exactly. Twentyfour years ago it took me about. 6 months to get on full disability with a lawyers help. He did it for free. But it's different now. It takes longer unless like the person above you have an advocate who really knows their stuff.

If you have worked at least 15 years you are eligible for regular SSD. If not, you can get SSI which pays a lower amount.

I am truly shocked it took 5 years especially since no denial! I have been denied twice and no I didn't file online but they my long-term disability ins. They have a company( the advocator group) who took care of this for me and a twice denial is typical here in my state but its been 2 years since filing and I go before a judge this month. I am fairly certain I will be approved based on all my health issues. But there is always a chance of denial regardless of where you live. But that is 2 and a half years since being off work. Never give up and always appeal instead of refile new.

I had 5 docs who couldn't care, they looked at me and saw a healthy 22 year old, I finally did something about it and after seeing that c**t the last time I went straight down to reception and let them have it, told them I was disgusted at my treatment, since then I got a doc who wants nothing more than to see me better and pain free, silence is your enemy, the worst the can say is no.
