Personally id wont off the perks asap but thats me. I dislike drugs that cause other damage to the body over time so try to avoid such unless necessary for as short amount of time as possible.
As to alternative options lidocaine patches help for some ppl, heat therapy has its benifits as doesncold therapy. My personal choise is heat with applied pressure (deep pressure therapy) does wonders to reducing my pain levels to a functional sort when i dont care to think about the celebrix as even a option.
Pain clinics are getting scared to prescribe... therefore us patients get to suffer more :(
I’m in the same situation I take hydro 10/325 4 times a day. Been on it for 20 years. I have to take extra then run out. I found kratom or CBF 1,200 helps ease between. Dr are so agreed to prescribe pain meds there is a lot of BS paper work when they do. Finally found pain doc that gives me back injections and nerve burning in a cycle every 2 weeks The kratom helps ease fibro flares and hydro keeps the edge off. Never totally pain free Hugs to you
I am on cyclobenzaprine for pain, which unlike percocet is not a controlled substance, so doctors aren't as nervous to prescribe it. It is pretty helpful both for sleep and pain, I also use supplements such as turmeric and magnesium to help with pain.
I have a book, which now that I have a flare up I am starting over again, called "The Fibro Manual" bu Dr. Ginevra Liptan and I highly recommend it. It addresses so many aspects of Fibro and how to help them all. The chapters are relatively short and it isn't to overwhelming. The author is both a doctor and has fibromyalgia.
I know you said you are having trouble finding a new doctor, but I hope that changes for you. Your doctor works for you, you are not obligated to stay with them. If you can find someone who is a doctor that does integrative or functional medicine as well, or someone who focuses on chronic illness and both western and eastern medicine I think that would be the most helpful for you. Our medical system is generally crap for chronic illness, but there are some doctors out there who know how to handle it.
You could check out the following link and see if that helps:

I’m in the same boat! My Dr wants me off of percocet completely after taking them for 20 years due to new govt rules stating that any non cancer chronic pain Should not warrant the use of opioids! I don’t know what to do? He also just recently put me down to only 2 pills. I feel like I might have to buy pills off the street just to get by with the flare ups
