Joint Pain?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Durham, NC

My main (pain) issue is joint pain. It is worst in my knees, big joints in the feet, and SI joints. It’s worse when I wake up and if I overdo it with walking or exercising too hard. My muscles don’t hurt, I just have a little weakness and rarely twitching. Does anyone else’s fibro seem to target the joints? Thanks!

Members confirmed that fibromyalgia often targets joints, with many experiencing significant pain in the knees, feet, fingers, toes, and SI joints that worsens with activity or weather changes. Several members shared that anti-inflammatory medications like naproxen and Celebrex provided some relief, while vitamin D supplementation was recommended for its connection to fibromyalgia symptoms, though many noted that overlapping conditions like osteoarthritis made it difficult to pinpoint the exact source of their pain. A recurring theme was the frustration of being told their pain shouldn't be as severe as it feels, yet finding solidarity in shared experiences of joint pain being a dominant feature of their fibromyalgia alongside muscle symptoms.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I've had osteoarthritis in my right knee since I was 16-17, I think it may have been caused for me by me always falling off of swings in my childhood as remember always having bandages on my pus filled knees the right one was always worse. My physio think it was caused by that also when I saw her in 2008. I don't understand why they r saying to u that it's not causing your pain as know how very painful my knee is all the time. Why do u have to b super athletic to have it? I've never been & have it. Have u had any x-rays taken?? I have so I do have proof that I've got this even though some people doubt it. Hope things get sorted out for u. Take care prayers, luvs & hugs Roo xxx
