I am on lyrica and it has been the only "approved fibro" drug that has worked for me so far. I have tried multiple off label medications and Cymbalta, Savella and Gabapentin over the years and either the side effects were too much or they just didn't work. I still have sever pain but not as severe as if I was taking the Lyrica. I originally was taking only 75mg at night for a year or so and got off to get pregnant. Now I take 150mg three times a day which is the maximum and suggested dose for fibromyalgia. However, we are all different and a lower dose may do the trick. Some people experience side effects, but the only ones I had was in the beginning I was a bit groggy until about 2 to 3 weeks in and that symptom has gone away and a bit of weight gain, but it is well worth it. I find that I still need Tramadol with the Lyrica for my really really bad days and flare ups that last months sometimes. I hope it helps you.

That is the exact frame of mind I have take lyrica and feel like your pain is manageable but your a little less on the ball but can still do things within reason specific to your pain. The alternative don’t take lyrica feel all your pain and don’t do anything that you want to do. Of course lyrica is good for some and not others but please do yourself a favor and give it a try it made my little part of the world 100% better. I am talking about quality of life. Do whatever it takes to make your life better for you and the people that love and support you. It’s a bad enough disease for lack of a better word why not try everything in your power to help yourself for you. Who cares about people that judge you because they can’t visibly see the pain you feel . Be kind to yourself. 💕😍

I take 150 in the morning and 225 at night this has been the only med that really cut down on the pain factor does make you a little groggy feeling for a couple of weeks but the reduction in pain makes it well worth it. As for cymbalta I took it for 5 days it made made me feel like I was on a really bad acid trip. Horrible after only 5 days I stopped taking them and still took a week to get normalish again it’s a hit a miss game when you are talking Fibro meds

I used to take Lyrica, but it was way to expensive for me. I started with 50mg and eventually went to 75mg. I found it worked pretty well for me. Although my Mom had problems taking it.
