Its a minefield but get an advisor, mines was fantastic, i got help filling out the forms and telling me what i needed for my claim and what to do during my asessment. My advisor was my local council benefits advisor who is in no way connected to the dhss. I dont know if they have them in your area but every area has help forums of some description or citizens advice. Get any and all hospital and doctors appointment letters and a full list of the meds you take. Photocopy them all and put the copies in your claim. I hope this helps you.

Hi sweet. I've had my PIP assessment at home today. And it was the worst thing I've been through. Had to make a complaint about the assessor putting words into my mouth. It was awful.
You need to get a sick note off your g.p then apply for U/C first then after 29 weeks you have a DWP health capability form sent out to fill in. Then they send for you for an assessment. Put in for PIP too. Hope this helps chic xx

I agree with getting a disability lawyer. They can navigate all the paperwork and legal crao for you. You do not pay them up front...they get a certain percentage of your check once awarded as you start accruing from the date you file. It can take a long while. I won my disability case. I first applied on my own and was denied. I then got a lawyer and went before a judge who awarded my disability. So you will most likely need a lawyer anyway so if I had to do it again Id let the lawyer do all the work.
