This is the latest report I read on GABAPENTIN. I am concerned because I have started to forget words in the middle of conversations, the drugs gets me extremely groggy, as if I am drugged when I take the recommended dose of 600 mg., sleepy, and with no initiative to do anything. I also take 125 mg of Effexor for depression.

Members shared mixed experiences with gabapentin for fibromyalgia pain, with some finding the cognitive side effects like word-finding difficulty and grogginess decrease over time, while others reported the medication offered little relief or required impractically high doses to be effective. Several members described frustrating experiences with pain management, including being labeled as drug-seeking by doctors, struggling to find medications that work without intolerable side effects, and discovering that some individuals with fibromyalgia have unique medication sensitivities that require starting at very low doses. A recurring theme was the difficult balance between managing severe chronic pain and coping with medication side effects, with many emphasizing the importance of self-advocacy and finding compassionate doctors who take their pain seriously.

I know my love but wots the alternative? I came off Pregablin for same reason- side effects. Actually, i dont know how long ill be able to tolerate the dose, but im one of those nightmare people who wake up thro anaesthetcis n need far much more than ordinary person to put me out.i seem to tolerate it well. I cant bear the pain - i recently tried it- came off most meds. Ooo! No way can i cope without pain relief.

Something i’ve Been told is that people with fibromyalgia have a medication intolerance- I am on Effexor and reacted to 37.5 for my first year, 1 year later I upped it to 75 and 3 years after I started taking it I’m at 150mg. So I try to start low on my meds because I have an intolerance to the strength. We also have a lot of medication sensitivities, so maybe try the gabapenten at a lower dose? I’m not sure
