Members shared mixed experiences with muscle relaxers for managing pain, with Soma and Robaxin emerging as the most helpful options, though many noted that doctors are increasingly reluctant to prescribe Soma due to addiction concerns. Several members found tizanidine effective at low doses, particularly for stretching out the need for pain medication, while others described Flexeril as ineffective or even worsening symptoms like calf tightness. A recurring theme was frustration with the medical system, including the challenge of finding doctors willing to prescribe effective medications and the stigma faced by those labeled as drug-seeking, leaving many feeling abandoned in their pain management journey.

I used to take soma and it worked well. However we moved and no longer have that dr.

Soma is great for me, but most doctors won't give it.

I take tizanidine 4mg, 2 tabs 3 times a day. I find this to be very helpful for me.

Soma, which no one will prescribe for me anymore, actually did help. With the current "opiate scare" in full force, my pain management clinic helpfully took me cold turkey off Fentanyl, Valium, and Benzos. Once one is labeled a crazed drug addict, no one else will even speak to me. I'm a tainted pariah, a drug-seeking junkie. I am no longer a person in pain who needs help. All I can do is pray for release from this veil of tears.

Whenever a doctor moves away or you move away, new doctors always want to start with square one on medications. Just pissed me off.
