Members confirmed that fibromyalgia can involve both flare-ups and progressive worsening over time, with many sharing decades of personal experience managing the condition. Several members described flares that can last days or months and leave them bedridden, with a recurring observation that as they age, the baseline symptoms seem to worsen, flares become more frequent and severe, and recovery periods grow shorter. A common theme was the frustration of finding that regular pain medications often fail to provide adequate relief during intense flares, met with compassionate understanding and virtual hugs from others who deeply relate to that struggle.

Fibro is known for it's "flares" so yes that can definitely happen and in the beginning they said it wasn't progressive, but I have heard more and more that now they believe it is.
