No Sleep?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I seem to really struggle to sleep and then after a few nights of not sleeping I will spend a week feeling terrible.
I have had trouble sleeping for a few years, any tips?
My doctor has given me sleeping tablets but they don't do anything, my brain doesn't turn off lol
This makes my pains worse than ever so I really need to sort something out

I don’t know if any of you have tried Tizanidine (zanaflex). It’s a muscle relaxer that also works on spinal pain. It keeps my twitching and restless leg symptoms at Bay. For me it only works for 4 hours on a bad night but I get much better sleep and some pain relief.

Hi Goca,

I can relate. My brain never shuts down either. I get maybe 3 hours of sleep on a good night. Tired & dragging during the day. I think my internal clock is way off.

When you find a solution to our sleep issue, PLEASE share. Sending you a gentle hug.

I take Super Cortisol Support, 3X /day.
At night Magnesium Calm ( 1 TBSP),Magnesium malate, 2 capsules and Orthos Sleep ( 2 capsules)...here is the link: https://aor.ca/products/ortho-sleep
If I can do a restorative yoga session, my sleep improves significantly.

My doctor has me on a lot of anti-inflammatory vitamins which include higher levels of fish oil, turmeric, Magnesium (must take if you use Turmeric as it activates it basically), Vitamin C, Probiotic (that is a no brainer especially if you are a woman), and a multivitamin. I add a biotin pill just for my sake, and I think that is it. I will have to look tonight when I am home. It does help and I feel when I have missed the vitamins, so I am getting better with putting all of them in the daily dispenser. Sleep is a tough one. I personally use Sonata. It is a very short span it works so you don't wake up groggy. I can even take it up until 2am and still wake up at 6am okay (as okay as you can be with insomnia, ha ha). It works to put you to sleep. It is great for me and it is not noted with any crazy behavior. Good luck, just some suggestions, but careful on the strong sleeping pills because if you are on something to settle your nerves, it can really make you fatigued in the morning.
