Members shared mixed experiences with acupuncture for fibromyalgia and chronic pain, with some finding it helpful for targeted issues like migraines, tendonitis, sleep, and relaxation, while others saw little to no improvement or had adverse reactions like bruising, swelling, and nausea. Several members emphasized that acupuncture's effectiveness varies widely from person to person, with cost and insurance coverage being significant barriers for many who wanted to continue treatment. A recurring theme was the importance of trying different approaches without judgment, as what works for one person may not work for another, and some members found relief through alternative therapies like chiropractic care or massage instead.

It did help me but my insurance doesn't cover it so its not an option for me. I suggest you go try it and if it helps and you can afford it, do it.

i actually did not cope at all.

i had it through the nhs at the hospital. I was physically sick after every treatment. i found the needles very painful and i even bleed from each one and made me very red.
and took a long time to recover after each treatment.

bad reaction to forcing the body to relax to fast.
but everyone is different, you might have a relief from it. Try different things, as you never know what might help you, may not suit someone else.

but no, my experience was not nice at all.

Although.....

chiropractor on the other hand helped me, i had fantastic results, i have nerves in the left side of my face around my teeth, lower jaw and i am on the floor with pain, he takes it away. like magic. I would not know what i cope with out him.

The physiotherapist did 20 sessions of acupuncture on my tendinitis on my elbow. Improved a bit but still ended up having to go for cortisone shot in my elbow which fixed the problem for 5 years. Had to go back for another shot. Still good till now. Tried acupuncture on the neck and right shoulder but only caused bruising and swelling. Stopped after 3 treatments. Some people swear by it.

I used to see mild improvement with pain through acupuncture before it started becoming a daily issue for me. Back when the pain first started. Now it doesn't seem to help but I still go every now and again because it helps me sleep / relax my body
