Members connected over the frightening experience of throat sensations and choking episodes, with many discovering they share symptoms of globus sensation (the feeling of something stuck in the throat) alongside chronic neck pain. Several members shared that cervical spine fusions, fibromyalgia-related muscle dysfunction, and aspiration issues may contribute to these symptoms, with some finding relief through lymph drainage massage and medical evaluations by ENT specialists. A recurring theme was the comfort of discovering they were not alone in these scary experiences, the validation that fibromyalgia can affect throat muscles and swallowing, and the importance of getting symptoms checked while managing the anxiety that comes with them.

I have been choking a lot lately too. I can take several supplements at once without any problems but then I get a tiny little pill stuck on the back of my throat. It is scary. I also have been asperating liquids and a couple of times pills. My uncle had aspiration pneumonia resently which I had never heard of and now it really scares me when I do it. I'm sorry for all of you experiencing this but I'm glad that it might be from fibro. I'm going to my primary doc today and plan on telling him to see what he says. I hope you all have a low pain day. Hugs

I rarely feel like I get something stuck in my throat, but I do choke a lot, sometimes on just a bit of saliva and sometimes it seems like I’m choking on air. Scary. As for my neck, it hurts almost all the time.

Best to google it, when the lymphatic system gets sluggish it can help to have it kinda drained of toxins.

Oh wow! You all have been describing my condition that has been going on for a while and getting worse. It's a scary feeling to choke on most anything and get the awful feeling that when you swallow pills, some of them get stuck on the back of your throat! I have some test done, but before that happens, I have to be cleared by my Cardiologist and my Pulmonologist to find out what's going on with this swallowing condition. For now, I have to keep on waiting and pray that I don't get worse.
