Aside from the lower back pain, one of the greatest complaints I have right now, is chest pain. Its in my right shoulder between my neck, all into my chest, and my arms and hands are tingling and aching. I feel fatigued, and my arms feel heavy. I have not had a stress test done but on labs my heart enzymes looked okay the last time I had blood work. Does anyone else experience this type of pain, and should I be concerned? There was an extremely stressful situation that happened Thursday night… read more

Members strongly encouraged someone experiencing chest pain to seek medical evaluation, sharing relief when the person reported going to the ER where heart-related causes were ruled out and reflux or fibromyalgia were considered more likely. Several members described similar chest pain experiences linked to costochondritis (inflammation of the chest wall) and fibromyalgia, with practical relief strategies including pool noodle stretches for upper back tension, deep heat cream, Voltaren, and working trigger points. A recurring theme was that stress and emotional upset frequently trigger flares that manifest as chest pain, muscle spasms, and widespread discomfort, yet members emphasized the importance of always getting heart symptoms checked out rather than assuming it's fibromyalgia.

I don't know if this will help you any, but a chiropractor told me to lay on the floor on my back with a pool noodle under my back between my shoulder blades. It releases tension. It seemed to help the pains I was having in my chest, and something even popped a little. You do have to cut the pool noodle.

Stress and any severe emotional situation seems to bring on flares. I think we tense up and it puts our muscles into spasms causingmore pain.

Thank you Vera! I am glad everything checked okay too. I am less tense now, and praying that I can get a good nights sleep tonight. :)

Thanks for the replies. I went ahead and went to the ER. He went deep on labs, looking at long term heart enzymes, and the whole nine. Everything checked out okay. Pressure, oxygen, x-ray were all okay. He said a stress test wouldn’t hurt. Im 35, but better to rule everything out.
He gave me Protonix in case it was reflux. I have had an issue with that in the past so I guess it could be. I do feel better since I went. I feel like he was very thorough. However I am going to follow through and make sure I have the stress test done. At least that way I can narrow this down and make sure it is the fibro or reflux causing this, and not some other issue with my heart. I just choose to believe its not my heart.
Anyways. Thanks again. Y’all have been great at helping me. Im very thankful for this site, and all of you, despite the reason we are all here.
God bless you all. 🙏🏼❤️

It is a good idea to get checked out whenever you have symptoms that could be your heart. I know I have had chest pain that sent me to the we. It turned out to be costochondritis, an inflammation to the chest wall. Several people on here have had this too. It is better to be safe than sorry so you should get checked anytime you have new symptoms or when it could be something serious. I have always said that I will probably have a heart attack and think it is from fibro and not go to the 1st because we get tired of going and them saying we can't find anything so it must be fibro. Just go in to be sure. Good luck. Hugs
