I Thing I Have Graves/hyperthyroidism.
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Can those who have this disease let me know what symptoms they had and what path they chose to treat/heal themselves. Any comment from those with family/ friends with Graves and their treatment is also appreciated.
Than you.

@A MyFibroTeam Member.

You have so many informative answers given already.

You should have blood tests to verify hyperthyroidism,/ graves disease. With this thyroid is working overtime. You loose weight and eat a lot, but cannot hold the weight. I was always on the go. Slept maybe 3 hours a night and worked 2 jobs and came home and busy cleaning house. I couldn't sit for 5 minutes. Had 3 doses of radio active iodine back in 1970/71. Thyroid produces very little hormone so I also take synthroid each day. Going the reverse of hyperthyroidism is hypothyroidism. You gain weight very easily, terrible trying to get it off. Your hair will start falling out more, eyesight problems and so on. Sounds very scary either way, but once medication given and you are watched every couple months you should be doing good in no time at all.

Good luck with the dr's and blood work. Also please have your eyes checked wether it is related to thyroid or not.

I pray that you start feeling much better very soon. Know that everything will be alright as your Team/Prayer Warriors are all praying for you and with our prayers going up to God, I know He will positively hear all of us asking Him to watch over you and help you get better.

Love, LaRosa

Hi, I don't know about Graves, but this website seems pretty straight forward
https://www.womenshealth.gov/a-z-topics/graves-...
Are you being tested for it?
It's worrying with fibromyalgia because so many symptoms overlap with it.

I had Graves diagnosed when I was 14. (late 60's) Had to undergo a thyroidectomy and drink radioactive iodine then. Have no functioning gland now even though I was told they left 1/5 of it in. Take synthroid everyday. Its way to easy to put on weight and sometimes the cold bothers me but then again so does the heat. Symptoms from Fibro and other conditions all kinda blur for me.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I'm sorry you still feel so bad. I really think you need a doctor nearby you, and you really should find a way to get there, and I know you would feel you were dragging yourself, but please do try. Maybe someone close to you could drive you, or maybe take a taxi. I just worry about you & care. I try to make my doctor appt's later in the day if possible, it's a bit easier that way. God bless you, Moreen. Love & Hugs! ❤😚⚘

@A MyFibroTeam Member> my aunt was diagnosed with Graves disease last year believe it was. All I can recall is her extended stay in the hospital, and extend weight loss. She isso much better now. With that said, I can say that the is medical hope, and that prayers do work. She looks great, is backto get old self again, watching what she eats of course. That's her all the way on the left. I'm allthe way on the right. Gentle hugs to you, and I'm praying for you.
