Members shared their struggles with severe neck and shoulder pain amid tightening opioid restrictions, expressing frustration that legitimate pain patients are suffering because of others' misuse while exchanging solidarity and determination to advocate for their needs. Several members recommended practical alternatives including TENS units, nerve blocks followed by ablation, acupuncture, Corydalis herb, Kratom, Epsom salt baths, topical cannabis rubs, and considering spinal cord stimulator trials, though many noted that surgery often worsens rather than improves pain. A recurring theme was the exhausting trial-and-error process of finding relief, the emotional toll of living in constant pain, and the fierce need to stand up for oneself when navigating an increasingly restrictive pain management landscape.

Well, after three failed shoulder surgeries, you can imagine how much neck and shoulder pain I have like you!!! I too get so pissed off at the assholes that are abusing the Percocet as it is the only thing that gives me relief plus my nerve block shots. I don’t think it’s fair that we have to suffer because of the idiots abusing it!! I saw a write up about cutting out opioids because of the overdose deaths that are becoming all too frequent!! I got really defensive and wrote a comment saying we should not have to suffer and the guy write back asking do I think my relief is worth the deaths! Boy did I lay into him and in the end I said “they have a choice to not take it, I don’t if I want any relief in this shitty pain filled life!” I think he got my point as he never commented back. I hate always writing a book but I have to tell you this. A few months ago I was running out and found out my doctor was on holidays (that will never happen again). I went to an after hours clinic only to find out they won’t prescribe opiates. So I went to our hospitals emergency ward and saw the sign they will not prescribe opiates but the nurse said there are some exceptions. While waiting, I saw them quickly take care of an alcoholic who was there about his leg but they were so efficient as they knew he was ready to go into convulsions cause he hadn’t had a drink in 24 hours. Then I saw them quickly treating a drug addict brought in by police! It was rightbthem and there I decided if I didn’t get the few Percocet I needed just to get me through TIL my doctor got back, there was going to be hell to pay! They are lucky they had a fantastic doctor on who took care of my needs or I’m sure I would have been committed to a psych ward! Yes I have tried pretty much everything out there from physio to CBD oil and nothing else works! We need to stand up for ourselves and I mean soon!!!

Try Kratom... natural opiate you can buy online.
What Is Kratom? Why Does the DEA Want to Ban It?

Sending you hugs. I'm in a horrible place as well with my neck and shoulder (L side,) and I'll go nights without sleep. Try an Epsom salt bath soak and the weed topical called Kind Rub. That's all I've got over some massage every few days to every other day on top of daily basic yoga poses and some neck stretches. 💜
