Im in the UK and have been off sick long term with my Fibro, my sick note runs out in April but my employer is taking me to a full case hearing over my sickness and this means my job is in jeopardy. Does anyone know where I stand with this as Fibromyalgia is a recognised long term illness here in the UK but I've seen my work place sack people for less. I have every intention to go back to work at the end of this sick note despite the fact I'm probably not well enough really to work full time but… read more
I live in the UK and was the same. I was on the sick from work for 2 year when they eventually paid me off and I got sickness benefit. then I applied for ESA and after a couple of times I eventually got it. then I applied for pip and after a tribunal I got that aswell. now I get as much as I did for my wage x I live alone and got extra for that aswell xx
That's a good GO Heather in the UK our GPS are not as accommodating. It's all to do with the Health service trying to cut costs. Plus's the DWP are very aware of Dodgers to.🤗
Get a med cert from your Gp for 12 weeks or longer. This will carry you through the hearing snd if it is anything like here they can't put you off while you have a med cert.
I do get PIP, but with my lack of entitlement to most things it wouldn't match my wages right now x
Thanks for the responses, ive been back at work since the start of May, its really hard but I'm doing it for now. I was off for 4 and a half months in the end, when i came back they took me to a full case hearing over the sickness level but kept my job. At 24 they wont give me most benefits even if I try unfortunately. I do like to work but would love to do less hours to help my health.
