Does anyone ever get pain that only seems to happen on the one side? It started with a burning/pain sensation on the left side of my stomach and hip a few days ago. However, today I have been getting random shooting/burning pain all on the left side of my body from the side of my head right down to the bottom of my legs. Has anyone experienced this?

Members validated the experience of one-sided pain in fibromyalgia, with many describing how their pain radiates from the hip down through the leg and foot, often accompanied by muscle spasms that can become excruciating quickly. Several members shared helpful strategies including chiropractic adjustments for realignment, topical pain relief like Salonpas spray, laser acupuncture for costochondritis (rib area inflammation that can mimic heart attack symptoms), and using walking sticks for mobility support. A recurring theme was the unpredictable and frightening nature of fibromyalgia pain, balanced with gratitude for small wins and the relief that comes from understanding the muscular rather than cardiac source of chest pain.

Hi Cat, I went to the doctors today for that very reason. The doc told me that in my case it is a spasm at the base of my spine on the left hand side. So it's effecting my hips, leg and back. Hope you are keeping well. Xx

Costochondroitis is inflammation of soft tissue around/between the ribs & can be extremely painful & scary as it presents like a heart attack. I get it regularly but laser acupuncture helps a lot.

My left side, especially the area from my shoulder to my waist is the worse for pain. The pain often hits hardest around the bust which used to scare the heck out of me until I began to take my blood pressure on a daily basis and realized that the pain was all muscular in nature - in the shoulder, upper arm, all round the left chest area. I use the Salonpas spray when the pain is really nasty. That seems to help. I guess that I'm lucky as the pain isn't in the bones - just the muscles - for the time being.
