Members connected over the frustrating and constant pain in legs and calves, with many describing discomfort that worsens in recliners, at night, or when sitting or standing too long, and includes symptoms like swelling, numbness, tingling, cramping, and restless leg syndrome. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped them find relief, including taking magnesium and Vitamin D supplements, using Epsom salt baths, applying heat with heating pads or hot bean bags, stretching or cycling to loosen muscles, wearing compression socks, massaging sore areas to break up muscle spasms, and using medications like gabapentin, Lyrica, or muscle relaxants. A recurring theme was the trial-and-error nature of managing fibromyalgia symptoms, the challenge of distinguishing fibro pain from other conditions like sciatica or osteoarthritis, and the importance of advocating for yourself with doctors while leaning on the community for shared wisdom and encouragement.

I bought some shin splint compression socks and they help w my leg pains. I mean they don't help to the point of no pain, but minimizes the pain greatly

Hi Hiberry
I have pains in my legs all the time. Specially the calves and ankles and if I push under my feet with the opposite foot when I lie in bed I feel it's in my foot arches as well. It is often also around my thighs and knees.
Sometimes I am not aware of the pain as I am so used to it. But when I touch my legs they are sore. I f I feel around long enough I find the little lumps which are the muscle spasms which cause the pain and I rub them. It is so sore to rub them but helps.
I prefer to lie down when I text or read or watch TV as my legs and lower back pain if I sit longer than an hour.
Cycling helps too.

I’m wondering do you stretch out your hamstrings becaysebdoing that hay help. I findvuf my hamstrings are tight then my calves and legs would be sore. But I don’t know that’s just me. It may not help you. Take care. Just gently massage those areas yourself. Lots of hugs.

Ask your dr. about a magnesium supplement - there are different types and the one she suggested has completely wiped out that issue.

Has anyone tried Natural CALM, ionic magnesium citrate powder? This is amazing stuff for pains in legs. I take a teaspoon, le el, muxed in a glass of water every night before bed. Pain, restless legs will lessen or go away. You can get it online at Amazon and in health foid stores. I got my 91 year old mom on this and her results were amazing as well. She has has fibro for many decades before it was named.
