Members shared their experiences with antidepressants for fibromyalgia pain, with Cymbalta (at 60-90mg) being the most frequently mentioned medication, though several noted that finding the right treatment requires trial and error since what works for one person may not work for another. Several members found relief through combinations of medications like amitriptyline for sleep and pain, Lyrica for nerve issues, Savella for overall pain reduction, and Tramadol for breakthrough pain, while others explored natural alternatives including 5-HTP for mood and magnesium for muscle pain and cramps. A recurring theme was the importance of patience when starting new medications, managing side effects like weight gain and blood pressure changes, and being open to both pharmaceutical and natural supplement approaches to find what works best for each individual's unique situation.

I take 90mg of Cymbalta. It does well for me. On it about 4 years.

Lyrics doesn't do much for my pain but is wonderful with the various nerve issues and the burning. I've been on it for 11 months.

I love my lyrica. It helps with all my nerve pain in my neck and back...and it helps with a flare up.

I rarely feel depression and anxiety anymore. When I first started taking 5-HTP it was weird because I was in a good mood, but a lot of pain. I call them my happy pills. You can get them at the Vitamin section of any big store.
I take 100 mg with each meal and 200 mg at bedtime, Same with Magnesium.
Magnesium helps with muscle pain and cramps. Try to find Magnesium Malate. Same dosage as 5-HTP. Less pain, better mood, better days.......

I took dopamax, that was nuts. I lost a ton of weight. You don't like food on it, you zone out but focus too much. The first 2 weeks were great then it just gave me jolts and feel weird. When it comes to meds everyone seems to have different effects. I seem to have better luck with natural supplements. But i also learn i have to give meds time to figure things out.
