I have been given Gabapentin for the last month and been told to start at 100mg daily and then to increase this upto 300mg (100mg 3 x daily) over so many days. I have been on 300mg dose for approx 3 weeks and am just wondering what dosage people start to notice this starting to have an affect
My doctor said the dose can possibly be increased, i am also taking Cymbalta 120mg and have noticed a very very slight improvement in the pain but am still having to take Zapain and Ibruprufen (400mg) on… read more

Members shared widely varying gabapentin dosages for fibromyalgia, ranging from 100mg three times daily up to 900mg three times daily, with many reporting that the medication alone does not fully control their pain and often requires additional treatments like tramadol, naproxen, or morphine patches. Several members described significant side effects including severe night sweats, memory problems, extreme fatigue, and a foggy or spaced-out feeling that some called the zombie effect, with one member switching to pregabalin for better results at a lower dose. A recurring theme was that while gabapentin may help with specific symptoms like neuropathy or restless legs, many found greater relief through tailored exercise programs, seated yoga, diet changes, and rest, though others noted that physical activity worsened their pain.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Court. I was on all those medicines too. They just want to keep upping the dose
In the mean time while DR. Is trying to find right dose. Medicine makes you feel very spacey and doesn't help the pain.. at least in my case. After a year I had to get off because I quit my job and lost my insurance and couldn't afford to go to Dr's anymore. I m glad I m off all those medicines cause I can feel and see the difference . That's just me. Everyone is different. Hugs and Prayers

It doesnt make me like a zombie and I'm on 900 3x daily, I take it cos of my chronic lower back pain that I suffer with as well as fibro, if I didnt have my tramadol and if I was mobile I know I would be in so much pain and have problems walking. I spend all day resting my back which helps my fibro as well. I know if I didnt have all those meds my back would play up which results in my fibro playing up xx

Hi im on exactly the same dose as you. 100mg 3x a day. I also take duloxtine 120mg, zapain and naproxen which is a stronger NSAID. Pain is more manageable most of the time, however i still get major flare ups where no medication eases my pain. I was referred to the gym by rheumatologist and have an exercise program tailored for me and i do notice that exercise has helped.

900mg 3x daily I call it the zombie drug. It helps with my neuropathy in my back so all those insect crawing around stoo and settles my restless legs. But it does make you vey foggy and spaced out hence the zombie drug. It doesnt stop the feeling your body is in pain and that sensation is weird nor does it help with fibro fog, thats where for me codeine drugs help
