I'm still waiting for my neurologist to make a diagnosis, currently she is just considering this as a likely dx for my symptoms. I know at my next appt if she decides this fits she is going to recommend Lyrica as the treatment. I would like to have some information before I just agree to take another drug. Already talking one for pain and another one for tremors and muscle spasms. Does anyone have experience with this medication?
I have been on lyrica for years. The only negative is the weight gain for me. I am not willing to give up the medication as it has changed my life for the better. As of right now i am able to work almost full-time and it has helped with a lot of my more severe symptoms. I needed a walker prior to lyrica. I hate the weight gain, but its that or back to the pain i endured, and im not going back there. I am still in daily pain, but i remember how bad it could be.
Thanks, me too.... I'm so not a fan of medication but realize it's the only thing keeping me going right now. The pain would be intolerable without it and I've always had a really high pain tolerance. This is so different though, weeks now of constant non stop pain. I feel for all the young people out there with this.
Sometimes if I can get the pain under control enough during a flare, the Lyrica is enough to push me forward to be able to get moving. It doesnβt always work. There are just days the CFS completely takes over. Everyone is different. I hope you can find what helps you.ππ»π¦π
Thank you, that was very helpful. I really want to be prepared for what the doctor recommends.
Thanks Jerilyn, I am on Gabepentin for sharp nerve type pain in my legs, Baclofin for spasms and tremors. They help a lot but when I'm on my feet very long my legs ache and the pain breaks through the Gabepentin. Besides I get so exhausted from very little activity. Does the Lyrica improve energy?
