Feels Like Theres Something Stuck In My Throat
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone always feel like you cant have a productive cough (you cant clear your throst) and you feel like there a bunch of mucus in the back of your throat just stuck. I have to nake myself throw up but that only satisfies it for a few minutes. I dont know if it is related to the weather or what but i need help. How do i control it?? :(

The allergist may test to see what you may be exposing yourself to that is creating the mucus. The mucus you are describing is most likely created by something you are allergic to. Also, smoking will create a lot of mucus. I am sure you have been told this but you really should stop smoking. There are many health problems you are going to experience, like a stuffed up nose, from smoking. I smoked for 20 years. There is nothing good about it and believe me, the longer you smoke the more health problems you will experience. If you smoke and have allergies you are guaranteed to have breathing problems. May vary from day to day but the combination of the two are trouble. Your respiratory system is already sensitive because of the allergies and the smoke added to the sensitive lining of your respiratory system is like pouring poison over it.

I feel like I'm constantly trying to clear my throat. It's annoying to me so I can imagine how annoying it must be to my husband. I thought it was just me.

I constantly have loads of phlegm and it drives me up the wall I can't seem to expel it. I do suffer from asthma and sinusitis which I believe is what causes the accumulation of phlegm. I try to keep loads of humidity in my apartment; I always have a pot of water with cloves simmering on my stove and that seems to add loads of humidity and a beautiful scent to my home. I also use Ocean nasal spray which is available over the counter and somehow it helps me expel the phlegm. Gentle hugs going out to you and a prayer for you to have a light pain day. Happy Pizza Day
