@A MyFibroTeam Member ...
Hi ...
I've Been On Steroids, Several Times For My Fibro, ME, Chronic Pain Syndrome But, Haven't Been On Them For, My Recent MS Diagnosis ,..
They Did Seem To Help For A While, When On Them But, As They Can't Prescribe Them, For 'Long' Length Of Time Here, When I Had To Stop Taking Them, For A Break, I Noticed An Increase In Pain ...
However, The More Times I Was Prescribed Them, The 'Less', They Helped With The Pain So ...
I Don't Think, I'd Try Them Again As, Its Like Getting A 'Quick-Fix', For A 'Short Burst' Of Time And 'Not', A 'Long-Term' Solution ...
I Didn't Get 'Any' Side Effects, When Taking Them But ...
I Hope This Helps ??
I Guess, Its Personal Preference And They May Work 'Better' And 'Longer' For You Beverley ...
Obviously, I Can Only Go Off, What They Were 'Like', For Me And How They 'Affected' Me ...
Much Love N Soft Gentle Hugs, Today And Always ... Trish xxx

Steroids did make a difference for me, but they are not something you can take on a long term basis. There are a lot of long term side effects that aren't good.

I have and steroids did help. Makes you feel lots better and gives you energy. The problem is, that steroids have some bad long term effects that make it so you can't take them for extended periods of time.

I haven’t been offered steroids as the condition is chronic so it’s not safe to take steroids all the time. My brother had to have steroids via a drip over a few weeks and it caused a perforation in his bowel and he was in intensive care all over Christmas as he has to have major surgery and it formed an abscess between his spine and a major artery.
I have had a dose of steroids for problems with my chest and I was on steroids whilst pregnant with my first because I had PUPPS rash(reaction to make hormone) I was in it for 6 weeks and I wa subsided early and it caused me to bleed more than normal as it jobs your blood. They also made me pile the weight on and bloat me up
In my opinion, steroids are something that’s should be used to treat something that is a short term problem. My brother had to take a small dose until he has reduced them and has to carry a card to day he is on steroids.

If you had a problem with one thing like your arm didn’t work properly, then maybe try it for a couple of weeks max but the side effects are not good if you have to take them long term in my opinion x
