Have tried every drug available in Canada but not a couple only available in the States. Wondering about anyone's experience with or knowledge of opioids for FM or ME, including prescription marijuana such as Nabilone, Demerol, Morphine, short and long acting. May discuss these with my doc.

Members openly discussed their experiences with opioids for fibromyalgia, with many sharing that medications like Tramadol, OxyContin, oxycodone, and morphine provided meaningful relief that allowed them to function, run errands, and maintain some quality of life, though several noted tolerance built over time or that pain relief was only partial. Several members offered alternative approaches they found helpful, including natural methods, physical therapy, massage, hydrotherapy, vitamin IVs, and cannabis products like Nabilone, with one member crediting cannabis with helping them manage symptoms for 22 years. A recurring theme was the tension between managing severe, life-limiting pain and concerns about dependence, with many members firmly advocating that when pain is debilitating, taking medication that restores function is a reasonable and necessary choice.

i have had fibro plus other problems for 30 years. I have tried so many meds and some work for awhile but i have been taking oxycodone, flexeril and ibuprofen along with many supplements for several years and it is still working. My pain is not 100% gone but i can at least function and get out of the house most days. I have been on ssi disability for 16 years. I was approved at 35 years old. Thank god because i am lucky to do what i have to do daily and i can't imagine trying to work. I feel for all of you that are still having to work. I pray we will see a cure or at least something that really helps us in the near future. Hugs

I tried Ultram (Tramadol) - a very low dose opioid, but it just made me more tired and fuzzy headed. I'm in the medical field and don't recommend opioids because you will just require a higher and higher dosage. Physical therapy, message, hydrotherapy, and vitamin IV's have been more helpful for me. I have had fibro 20+ years...

I was on percocet for about six months. I was talking one pill every other day to be able to have four hours of no pain so I could run errands and just get household business done.
In the long run I decided it wasn’t for me. It’s not that it didn’t work because it did. I just didn’t want to go down that road so I stopped all drugs and found natural ways to help myself.
It was the best choice for me and it helped me so much.
