I take the multiple team approach. I take Tylenol and Tizanidine and Oxycodone from my pain doctor. My Fibro doc who is a Physiatrist who specializes in Fibromyalgia Lyme &Lupus has me taking many different supplements. I take Tramadol for sleep and Cymbalta for depression. I take Ai Chi class which is Tai Chi in warm salt water 3x weekly. I see my awesome hands only chiropractor weekly and get a massage every other week. My schedule totally revolves around how much rest I must have to function. And for flare ups etc I find ice packs and heating pads both helpful. All of these things really do help. It took about 2 years for me to figure this all out. As a result I actually have many pain free days now. I also have medium bad and terrible days but not so many anymore. Support from family and my in person chronic illness group helps too and all the wonderful people on this site too! It all adds up. Don't slow down or give up you are worth every minute of the fight. Hang in there with all of us and let us help you. πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

I have found Vitamin D3 to work well too. I take 5,000 IU a day with my evening meal. In addition, I take Curamed, the essential oil of circumin, 750 mg 2 times a day to reduce inflammation. Making sure to have very good oral health and avoid commercial toothpastes and washes which will kill the good bacteria of the mouth also helps reduce inflammation. I use Natural Dentist rinse which is herbal and with flossing gets rid of gingivitis. Avoiding sugar and any foods we could possibly have sensitivity to will also help. Depending on prescription drugs alone to reduce pain isn't always an.option when there's an opioid crisis or drugs are too expensive. Good luck everybody, and thanks for the great ideas.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Hi, it's Viv. Most fibro people are deficient in Vitamin D & magnesium. I take 20,000 ius/week. One Vidextra tablet is 10,000 ius, so one on Sunday & one on Thursday for fall/winter since there is less sunshine. For spring/summer, just one 10,000 ius/week. As for magnesium, there are different kinds. Some use magnesium spray but I take the pill, 250 mg. Taking my Cymbalta, muscle relaxant, vitamin D & magnesium before I sleep. Doc says it absorbs better at night. You can read my story, my profile & my updated profile. I've listed my meds & supplements which has been helping me. If you have a question, feel free to ask.
