Pelvic Pain
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone have pelvic floor pain? After sitting up in a vehicle driving or an office chair (very nice support and lots of cushion), I get very bad pain in the pelvic region to the point that I have to lie down with feet up to get relief.

check out info on the "psoas" muscle on the side of your pelvis. It is a big muscle and when it's tight... oh it hurts! google it and see what it's all about.

Yes, I actually posted an inquiry about this recently. I have flares of pain that feels like lower abdominal/pelvic bone pain, along with lower back, buttock, and upper thigh pain which can get quite severe. Does it feel tender if you press on your lower abdomen? I am always hesitant to blame this on fibro pain, but I can always connect it to the worsening thigh and buttock pain, so there has to be a correlation. So sorry you are having it - yes, it can get fairly severe to the point where you wonder, as I said, if there is something else going on. I find that after a few days, the flare will subside Mine, however, is not really helped by lying down. Actually lying on the area seems to exacerbate the pain, which may be why it is worse for you on sitting. I have read that there can be multiple layers of trigger points in the abdominal wall and pelvic floor which can contribute to this klnd of pain. Of course, I am not a doctor, so best to check with your provider if possible. Just don't do as I have and put topical ointments on the upper thighs for relief; TMI, I know, but you get the point! Too bad, because that really helps it. Hope you feel better.
