Members shared mixed experiences with gabapentin for fibromyalgia and nerve pain, with some finding it highly effective for calming overactive nerves and improving sleep, while others noticed no benefit at all. Several members reported significant side effects including weight gain (up to 20 pounds in the first month for one person), memory problems, difficulty concentrating, dizziness, and in one case temporary vision loss, with many noting that high doses seemed to worsen these issues. A recurring theme was the importance of weaning off slowly to avoid withdrawal symptoms, carefully monitoring how you feel over time, and working closely with your doctor to determine whether the benefits outweigh the side effects for your unique situation.

I said that Gabapentin never benefited me in the past. However, just to retest, I started taking it again yesterday. Lately I've had severe burning and pins and needles practically all over my body. My clothes, although soft, feel like sand paper against my skin. So yesterday I started with 100 mg 3x day. This morning I woke up actually feeling good. However, I also added an antiflamatory drug as well. So I'm not sure which one helped but I'm going to continue with both.

I take it .... it helps a lot, calms down my over sensitive nerve endings. I can only take them 300 MG at night or when home. It affects my memory big time, hopefully not long term loss. It definitely works though, it's my 'go to' for a good nights sleep.
