Parts Of Body Going Numb?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have experienced a great amount of stress the past three months. The last couple of weeks, I am experiencing numbness in my hands, feet, my mouth. This really freaks me out because I fear I might be having a stroke but then it goes away. Does anyone ever experience numbness?

Einnoc: I wasnt afraid I was having a stroke. I was concerned that it was neurological, but my scans were all normal. The difference is typically strokes occur in one side of the body. Usually one side of your face may droop, whether temporarily or long term. Slurred speech, weakness in an arm and/or leg, difficulty seeing out of one eye, confusion are also other possible stroke symptoms. The symptoms are usually sudden. I’ve done a lot of research for myself, but I’m not a doctor. For me, if there is any weird symptom that pops up causing concern, I usually ask my doctor to run tests to put my mind at ease.

What really scares me is when it feels like it is inside my mouth going numb. I am afraid I will not be able to get the words out & then my vision starts to get fuzzy along the edges like I'm having an ocular migraine. I need darkness.

This happens to me literally every day. I was scared at first too, but now I’m starting to ignore the numbness and tingles. If it bothers you or changes, ask your doctor if there’s anything to do or if you need to be tested for anything else, but my Neurontin prescription has reduced this.

My hands and feet will suddenly become numb/tingly on occasion. My whole face became numb/tingly once as well. From what I’ve read, it’s very common.

My feet and legs will go numb from time to time. If I wear compression socks it really helps. They also help my RLS at bedtime too. Ask your doc about it next time you go in, it could be something as simple as a circulation issue like mine was.
