Hi, I am on this and it decreased my appetite and I have lost weight. I guess everyone is different. I think it’s worth taking as it is supposed to be good for fibro. Some people have bad side effects but I seem to be ok up to now and I’ve been on it 5 weeks xx

10mg amitriptyline is to help with pain, you can take 1-4 an hour before bed. It'll help you sleep, so your body can cope better with pain in the day.
I can only take 2 at 7pm otherwise I can't wake up in the morning. (But that is my body).

There is side effects with every medication, I haven't heard of putting weight on as one of them. And it hasn't with me. (I've been on it since 2003).

I wasn’t on it long enough to find out. It helped with my pain but I just didn’t feel myself. Felt quite low and not with it. But people have very different reactions to it my specialist said at the time. Although he was surprised I had a strong side effects on such a low dosage. Good luck.

I am very allergic to this medication. But yes it can and will cause weight gain
