I had a physical trauma last february, and that started me on this fibro journey. Has anyone else here been diagnosed after having symptoms begin from an injury? If you check my profile and look at my story, maybe you can find some comparisons. I’m very curious to see your responses. Best!

Members overwhelmingly confirmed that their fibromyalgia symptoms began after physical trauma such as car accidents, falls, or work injuries, with many believing the condition was already latent in their bodies and triggered by these events. Several members shared that emotional trauma, extreme stress, grief, or a combination of physical and psychological stressors often preceded or intensified their diagnosis, with one member noting their symptoms stemmed from PTSD-related Conversion Disorder. A recurring theme was the profound life changes that followed, including lost careers, mobility challenges, and depression, met with deep empathy and gentle support from the community.

Both or either can trigger fibromyalgia. I believe the disease is already latent in a person, then the extreme trauma brings it on.

My symptoms began after an emotional trauma. Lost lots of sleep and experienced immense fear. Then it started. I have looked at lots of stories of people with chronic illness, and that seems to be the norm.

I had symptoms like extreme and unusual fatigue my whole life. The flares and widespread pain started after I had a really bad fall.

I also had a very physical job, there were a lot of times where I took my neck out hitting potholes. That's also what hurts me the most arthritis wise. I have 4 bulging disc in my neck
