After a life of chronic pain, it explained a lot. I suppose I’m lucky as I seem to have the remitting kind of fibro and when I have a flare, know it's not forever.
Even tho my doc is wonderful and has a lot of advice, it got me researching as I fervently believe that our health is first and foremost our own responsibility.
I avoid meds as much as possible. That said, to each of you, cut out inflammatory foods. NOW! The two worst culprits are wheat and sugar, with several others to a lesser degree.
I want to say a few things about fibro. STOP FEELING GUILTY! !! You didn't cause it, or want to have it. Think of it this way, would you feel guilty if you have, diabetes, heart murmur, celiacs, or any other condition or disease. No! Because it's newly reconized we feel like we have to explain it to others. Take it day by day and deal with it the best you can. Only God and you know what you go through everyday.
Thank you for your answers. I see it is the knowledge what you have been feeling for years and get an answer for that and then start finding out what can you do to make yourself have a better life.
Everything. I went from being active and energetic to slow and tired most of the time. The diagnosis was a relief sort of. I had an answer. Then it was time to research. Next came the reality that THIS is my new normal. It is tough. More bad days than good. I would love to feel like I did before fibromyalgia.
Hi @A MyFibroTeam Member I agree with all of the above. Realization and coping with FMS is a daily challenge. Work accommodation, supplements, vitamins, medication, rest and relaxation, and mindful wellbeing are crucial for balancing your health. Time management for taking care of me was and is currently the biggest change of all.
