A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does everyone know how or by what they got this disease.

I got mine from a screwed up gall bladder surgery and the doc didn't put the fossa clips on my bile duct and cause me to get sepsis. 3 months after this happened I started getting bad pain in my upper and lower back.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. Ebstein Barr virus is what causes mononucleosis. I had mono at 16. I started with a sore throat and swollen glands. Then i basically slept for 2 and a half weeks. My parents had to wake me up to eat. I was also very weak. They had to help me get back and forth to the bathroom. Not everybody will have it that severe. I was just lucky. Lol. Some people had it and were not diagnosed because they just thought they had a bad flu or cold. Once in your system, it lies dormant but never goes away. Check out the doctor under medical medium on fb. He has been researching eb and fibro for years. He says eb has several phases we go thru. Fibro is one of them. I connected eb(mono) with being the cause of fibro 20 years ago. I asked anyone i met back then that said they had fibro if they had mono and they all did. I wish someone would have figured it out back then but at least they know about it now. If you were not diagnosed with mono, did you have a time in your teens or earrly 20's, when you had a bad sore throat and totally exhausted and needed to sleep alot? It is very common for people not knowing that they had it. Your doctor can do a test to see if youbhave eb virus in your system. They are working on a anti viral mixed with an arthritis drug to treat fibro. I hope this helps. Hugs

Yessss! the drug is an antiviral mixed with celebrex.
Both my doctors are aware of it and are very excited for it to come out.
It just proves I'm not crazy! (maybe matter of opinion) but It's just too much of a coincidence that most people on this site have had Ebstein's barr at one time or another in their lives. And I bet you anything that at least half have never been diagnosed because symptoms can mimic a cold or the flu.
This drug is in it's third phase of testing and it's strictly for fibromyalgia.
Cross your fingers!

I fell at work in 1988. It started with a sprained neck and upper back. It took 3cand a half yeats to get diagnosed since they did not know much back then about fibro. Resently i found an article on facebook under medical medium that the doctor on there has been reseaching fibro for years. He thinks it is from the ebstein barr virus which causes mononucliosis. I had mono at 16 years ols and my health went downhill from there. Many people have the virus in their system and not even know it. I have spoken to many people since being diagnosed 30 years ago and most of them with fibro did also have mono. It is very interesting to read all that the medical medium doctor has written. Just search him on fb. Good luck everyone and have a nice sunday. Hugs

@Terrii40. You should have the test for ebstein barr virus. it will show if it is in your system active or not active. Alot of people had mono and never was diagnosed. Have you been diagnosed with fibro? Let us know if you get tested for eb. Hugs
