Members overwhelmingly agreed that white noise and similar sounds help them sleep better, with the most popular choices being fans, ocean waves, rain sounds, thunderstorms, and soft music played through white noise machines, apps like Relax Melodies and Alexa, radios, or TVs. Several members emphasized the importance of positioning fans away from the body to avoid cold air worsening fibromyalgia pain, while others found that white noise also helps mask tinnitus, block out household disturbances like a partner's different sleep schedule, and train the brain to recognize bedtime cues. A recurring theme was the personal nature of what works, with members encouraging each other to experiment and find their own comforting sounds, whether that's whale songs, spa music, or even the hum of a humidifier.

I have an old humidifier that runs all night and is a great help to me as I also have ringing in my ears and it helps drown out that too.
