How Does Everyone Handle Travel?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am the only driver. Long drives are a serious nightmare. I stop often to get up and move around. A 4 hour trip turns into over 5. Last year I had to drive 17 hours. On the way home, I ended up stopping at hotels a few times.

I cannot take pain meds. I am not a lot of fun on long trips.

As we got older we went for seat comfort on our cars and that makes a huge difference. Seats with lumbar support and a variety of position changes help, I always wear sunglasses and staying hydrated is a must for me which calls for more bathroom stops. I too sometimes need to pull into a parking lot and take a quick nap. I a,ways carry pain meds but never take them until I’m near my destination. Never take them unless your sure you can pull over and snooze if you need to.

Thanks for the help. I wish I could get a new car. Mine sits so low to the ground. I cannot use hot tubs or take hot baths. I do try for regular stops. I take a lot of pee breaks. Lol

I love to drive and used to be ble to do 4 hours before I needed a pit stop. Now that same drive has me stopping every hour just to be able to walk around and stretch my legs. I try to find interesting places to have new experiences, by stopping like this I can walk more like I used to instead of having to hang on to my car when I first get out of it.
