I have noticed recently that when I'm watching tv or working or really anything, suddenly everything is too loud. I turn the tv down and anywhere between a few minutes to a few hours later I can barely hear it.
Wow I just realized I have the sensory overload thing! I never never put the two together til now. It's been happening for years.
My husband knows he can never whistle around me. That will set me off more than anything. Also I canβt listen to certain types of music anymore. π

Oh yeah, that happens all of the time to me and I live alone. The tv just suddenly seems to be blaring. I know now that I need quiet. I got over-stimulated. I find that about 20 minutes works for me. I shut off the lights and lie down and decompress. I've been sitting in silence for the last 4 hours. It's one of those days.
So reading all the answers is this sensory overload actually linked to Fibromyalgia? I thought it was just me getting cranky in my old age lol
I keep the remote in my hand when watching tv, cuz im always having to adjust the sound.
Sudden loud noises make me jump, n too many different nosey at one time, will put me into sensory overload, n will have to leave the room - which can seem rude at family get togethers.
