A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I alpied.and was rejected so I appealed and got rejected again. I am barbarely mobile and I suffer from chronic fatigue and pain. Also have sleep apnea, 2 back surgeries. I am going broke cause I can't work. I feel trapped and broken.

Yes it is difficult to get disability. I've tried 3 times and got turned down each time. My attorney told me that if I apply for and get a job then you would not be considered to be disabled. Now I have an attorney and we appealed my denial. Get an attorney. You should not have to pay them because they will get a certain amount once your case is settled. The judge will determine how much or what is a fare amount for the attorney to be paid but still not from you.

Still trying myself. Been denied several times. I'm taking to the last possible appeal, though. It's not going to help that I haven't been to my doc this year. Lost my insurance. I too had a lawyer the first time around with no luck. So I'm winging it on my own this time, figure I can't do any worse.

I agree with LisaK.... to file for disability you should have an attorney that is familiar with fibro, review your case. Most reputable ones will take your case if they feel you will win. Most states have laws to protect you from being ripped off. Fibromyalgia cases can be tricky, but is gaining in its fight for being on the disability "list. " good luck
